FAQs

Here's answers to the frequently asked questions about the HDR 200 Rechargeable Digital Hearing Aid
How do I use the HDR200?

How do I know if it will fit my ear?

The medium length HDR tubing included as standard fits more than 85% of our customers comfortably - but we will send out a shorter or longer tubing if need be. A number of different sizes and styles of dome designs can also be used. A smaller dome can help to minimise the ear canal feeling blocked up; but a bigger dome may be required to prevent amplified sound leaking back out the ear canal and creating feedback (whistling).

How many times can it be re-charged?

If anything about the physical fitting or sound is not to your liking, you can return the HDR200 for a full refund within the first 30 days of receipt. Please do contact us to see if another product may be better suited, and a further 30 day trial with another product can be arranged.

What if it doesn't work for me?

If an evaluation by a hearing professional indicates that you have hearing loss in both ears, and especially where the degree of loss is similar, two hearing aids are usually recommended.

While it may be tempting to try to limit the cost by going with a single hearing aid, wearing just one hearing aid may not give you maximum benefit in some difficult listening situations.

Should I get one or two?

If an evaluation by a hearing professional indicates that you have hearing loss in both ears, and especially where the degree of loss is similar, two hearing aids are usually recommended.

Although rechargeable, are there other running costs?

The following items will need to be replaced on the HDR200:

  • Dome:change the dome every month on average (10 domes in a pack).
  • Tubing: change the HDR200 tubing every 3 months (single tubings can be purchased, or in a pack of 5).
How do I turn the HDR200 on/off?

Push button on the back

How do I work the controls?

There is a wheel-style volume control on the spine of the HDR200 allowing volume to be adjusted up and down. The on/off switch also functions as a programme selector - with 3 pre-set listening programmes to try out. The HDR200 will always turn on in setting 1.

How long does it take to charge?

The HDR200 takes around 3-4 hours.  A full charge gives 20 hours of use in quiet environments. Noisier environments mean more processing required, and this can slightly affect the use time. If the aid needs to be used before a full charge has been done, the use time will be shorter than 20 hours.
